Our 72-Hour Removal Guarantee

Any individual can request the removal of their profile from GEO Upward at any time, for any reason, without providing justification. We will complete the removal within 72 hours of receiving your request.

Why Do We Have Profiles of People Who Didn't Sign Up?

GEO Upward creates "Managed Profiles" for notable founders, executives, and industry leaders using information that is already publicly available on the internet — the same information displayed by Google Search, LinkedIn, ZoomInfo, Crunchbase, PitchBook, and AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude.

We do this to help founders become more visible to AI systems, which are increasingly how clients, partners, and investors discover people. Our goal is to help, not harm. A Managed Profile organizes and structures publicly available information into a format that AI tools can easily reference and cite.

However, we fully understand that not everyone wants a profile on our platform, and that's completely okay. Your right to control your online presence is more important than any profile. That's why we make removal as easy as possible.

How to Request Removal

Send Us an Email

Email removal@geoupward.com with your name and the URL of the profile you want removed. That's all we need. You don't need to explain why, you don't need to prove your identity with documents (though we may ask you to confirm from an email address associated with your public profile), and you don't need to fill out a form.

We Confirm Your Request

Within 24 hours of receiving your email, we will send you a confirmation that we've received your request and that removal is in progress. If we need to verify your identity (to prevent unauthorized removal requests), we'll let you know — this is to protect you, not to slow you down.

Profile Removed Within 72 Hours

Your profile page will be taken down, all associated data will be removed from our active systems, and any cached versions will be cleared. We will send you a final confirmation when removal is complete. Search engine caches may take an additional 1-4 weeks to update, but we will submit removal requests to major search engines on your behalf.

What Happens After Removal

Your Upward Page is immediately taken offline and returns a 404 (page not found).
Your data is removed from our active database within 72 hours.
Backup copies are automatically purged within 90 days.
Search engine caches may take 1-4 weeks to clear. We will submit removal requests to Google, Bing, and other major search engines to expedite this.
AI systems that may have previously referenced your profile will stop receiving updated data from us. We cannot control cached information within third-party AI systems, but the removal of the source page means they will no longer have a live reference to cite.
Your name will be added to our internal "do not profile" list to ensure we do not recreate a Managed Profile for you in the future, unless you explicitly request one.
Removal is permanent. If you later decide you want a profile on GEO Upward, you are welcome to contact us to discuss options — but we will never recreate a profile without your explicit consent after a removal request.

What We Will Never Do

We will never charge you to remove your profile. Removal is always free.
We will never hold your profile hostage to pressure you into buying a subscription.
We will never make the removal process intentionally difficult or require excessive documentation.
We will never ignore or delay a legitimate removal request.
We will never retaliate against anyone who requests removal, including publishing negative content or contacting their employers or associates.
We will never recreate your profile after removal without your explicit consent.

Corrections Instead of Removal

If your profile contains inaccurate information but you'd like to keep it on the platform (or don't mind having one), you can request corrections instead of removal. Email corrections@geoupward.com with the specific information that needs updating. Corrections are typically made within 5 business days.

You can also claim your Managed Profile to take control of it yourself. Claiming is free and gives you the ability to edit your own information, add or remove content, and manage your Upward Page directly. Contact hello@geoupward.com to claim your profile.

Frequently Asked Questions

How did you get my information?+

All information on Managed Profiles comes from publicly available sources on the open internet — the same sources used by Google, LinkedIn, ZoomInfo, Crunchbase, and AI tools like ChatGPT. We never access private accounts, password-protected content, or information behind login walls.

Do I need to prove who I am to get my profile removed?+

We keep verification minimal. We may ask you to send the request from an email address that is publicly associated with your name (like one listed on your website or LinkedIn), simply to prevent someone else from removing your profile without your knowledge. We will never ask for government ID, SSN, or sensitive documents.

Will you charge me to remove my profile?+

Never. Removal is always 100% free. We will never charge for removal or use removal requests as a sales tactic.

What if my profile appears again after I request removal?+

It shouldn't. When you request removal, your name goes on our internal "do not profile" list. This prevents any automated or manual process from recreating your profile. If for any reason it reappears, email us immediately and we will remove it and investigate the cause.

Can someone else request removal on my behalf?+

Yes. Authorized representatives (such as an attorney, publicist, or manager) may request removal on your behalf. We may request verification that they are authorized to act for you — a brief email from you confirming the request is sufficient.

What about Google's cache of my profile?+

When we remove your profile, we also submit cache removal requests to Google, Bing, and other major search engines. Google typically clears cached pages within 1-4 weeks. The live page will return a 404 immediately, so anyone clicking a cached link will see the page is gone.

Can I keep my profile but change what's on it?+

Absolutely. You can request corrections to any information, or you can claim your profile for free and manage it yourself. Email corrections@geoupward.com for corrections or hello@geoupward.com to claim your profile.

Is this similar to ZoomInfo, Crunchbase, or PitchBook?+

Yes, the model is similar. Like those platforms, GEO Upward compiles publicly available professional information. And like those platforms, we provide a clear and easy process for individuals to request removal of their profiles. The key difference is that GEO Upward focuses on optimizing founder visibility for AI systems, not just traditional search.
